GoldMine:GoldMine Corporate Edition V7.0.3GoldMine

FrontRange now has a compatibility update available to provide support for Windows Update KB920958 released in August 2006, that is incompatible with iGoldMine for Windows on Windows 2000 SP 4. Windows Server 2003 is unaffected. This incompatibility only affects the iGoldMine Server and does not impact the Client machines.

This compatibility update applies to iGoldMine versions 7.0 and 6.6.

To access the update, go to http://support.frontrange.com, log into the Maintenance Support Section and Drivers and Downloads will be a menu option on the left. Select the appropriate product to view the Compatibility Update for KB920958, available for download.

Microsoft Dynamics CRMMicrosoft CRM

A patch rated critical by Microsoft (MS06-042 update) has caused a couple of issues. The first problem happens when accessing popup menus in the Microsoft CRM application using IE 6.0. You receive an error message complaining of a permissions error. The Second problem is exhibited by the IE window closing unexpectedly with a note about why it is closing. In both cases the following article at Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923996/) will provide a resolution to the problem. There are also several blogs out there addressing the same issue.

Sage CRM SalesLogix: Introducing SalesLogix V7 SalesLogix

Sage SalesLogix introduces their latest release which will be shipping in mid-September. SalesLogix V7 provides many new and exciting features for both end users and administrators alike. New features/enhancements of Version 7 include:

  • "My SalesLogix". User-configurable dashboard view of key metrics and data in SalesLogix
  • User Interface refresh. XP theme support, updated toolbars and icons, refreshed calendar user interface
  • Activities. New Activities interfaces, features, and customization options
  • Reporting. Easier reporting interface and updated Crystal Reports XI support
  • Customer Support. Key customer support features including Assets, Returns, Service Contracts, Standard Problem/Resolution, and Defects in SalesLogix Windows client, eliminating the separate Support Client interface
  • Security. New Internet sync protocol (HTTPs) for simplified secure sync, search security to prevent unauthorized data access
  • Administration. New administrator tools including a customizable Integrity Checker "DBA-lite" tool, simplified remote installation, and improved Import Wizard data imports
  • Customization. Several developer and administrative enhancements including simplified Projects in Architect, ability to add fields to core tables, and additional features now open to customization
  • Remote Users. "One-click" deployment of remote databases. No recutting of remotes IF you are at V6.2.3 or higher
