Microsoft Dynamics CRM
SharePoint
version 2007 has received a facelift and has compelling functionality.
SharePoint was already a very interesting application/platform but with
this new version it is sure to be the number one integration with
Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The web parts are useful and fun. These
include web parts for creating dashboard reports as well exposing CRM
lists inside of SharePoint. The document storage functionality of
SharePoint has been of particular interest with those owning and
interested in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Spring ’07 is here! This new release comes
right on the tail of the Winter ’07 release and offers even more
functionality to the Salesforce application:
-
Customizable Forecasting
Enhancements. Provide one-click access to key forecast and
opportunity information. Users can now override a forecast number or
access a list of deals related to a specific forecast period with
greater efficiency.
-
Customizable Search Results.
Inline paging and sorting features simplify the task of working with
large sets of search results. Powerful filtering and scoping functions
narrow searches and results. Customization options enable users to
design search results layouts that are tailored for the way they work.
-
Recent Item Hovers.
With recent item hovers (in the Sidebar), you no longer need to drill
down to view recently modified data. Just move the cursor over the link
to a recently edited record for an instant, pop-up view of the key data
in the record.
-
Time-Based Workflow.
Workflow functionality is now based on time—either a time that has
passed or a time that is approaching. Time-dependent actions can be
based on any date/date time field on a record.
-
Email Relay. With Spring ’07, you can archive emails, append
disclaimers, and do content filtering to meet regulatory compliance
requirements. When email relaying is activated, Salesforce-generated
emails will be delivered by your company’s mail server, not by
Salesforce.
-
Email Approvals.
Spring ’07 brings additional approval functionality with the ability to
approve or reject requests and even add comments by email, a useful
feature for heavy users of mobile email devices.
-
Case Hierarchies.
Spring ’07 streamlines case resolution by linking related cases. Users
can create a hierarchy of relationships between cases and can quickly
update cases when the root cause is changed. Users can create multiple
sub-cases under one parent case to ensure that complex issues are
properly tracked and resolved.
