Microsoft Dynamics CRM
 

There are various software companies that have built enhancements for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and are now beginning to rollout out their support for the 4.0 release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  A company that has recently released software in support of the new version is GaleForce Solutions.  GaleForce a series of financial vertical solutions but more generically have very nice solutions for enhancing security.  Rules-based forms offer the customizability of forms such that different groups of users in your organization will be able to see different forms in order to keep their user interface relevant to their function.  Field level security allows the business to reduce exposure of data when exposure is unnecessary.  These solutions allow the application administrator the feasibility and easy management of form and field level security customization not available in Microsoft Dynamics CRM natively.

The Summer 2008 Release is here and is packed with new and exciting features! 

• Analytic Snapshots:  Create historical view on your data on any object.  (Available in Developer, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited Editions)
• Opportunity History Tracking:  Track changes to your standard and custom opportunity fields for a detailed log of all changes make to your tracked fields.  (Available in all editions)
• Multi-day Events:  Create calendar events that span several days and have specific start and end times.  (Available in all editions)
• Task Hovers on Home Page:  Hover over as task on your homepage and get all the task details without having to open it up.  (Available in all editions)
• Public Tagging:  Use Public Tagging to share tag information with other users in your organization.  Managers and team leads  can use public tags on accounts and contacts to share critical information across the user base.  (Available in all editions)
• Advanced Lookups:  Lookups can now incorporate filtering, customization of columns and layouts, sorting, paging through results and auto-complete capabilities for recently viewed records..  This feather is not automatically visible.  It is enabled, but requires some setup.  (Available in all editions)
• Converted Lead Page:  When accessing converted lead records, view all related records into which a lead was converted with easy links to those records (i.e. new contact, opportunity and account records).  (Available in Developer, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited Editions)
• Visualforce Pages:  Visualforce is a new technology used to develop powerful user interfaces that can be used to enhance the standard Salesforce applications or to create custom applications.  (Available in Developer, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited Editions)
• Inline List Editing:  List-view capability for editing multiple records right from a list without leaving the page.  (Available in all editions)
• Drag & Drop List Views:  Allows users to customize lists and get summarized information.  (Available in all editions)
• And many more!
