The Technion Honors New England Leader
New York, NY, July 1, 2011- Sidney C. Lejfer , President and CEO of Harvest Solutions, received an honorary fellowship from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology during the Technion International Board of Governors (BOG) Meeting in Haifa, June 12-15.
“This honor is in recognition of Mr. Lejfer’s enthusiastic leadership at the local and national levels,” said Technion President Prof. Peretz Lavie.
An up-and-coming leader of the American Technion Society, Sid was past president of the ATS New England Region and is now chairman of board. He is also a member of the national Board and is the ATS Assistant Treasurer. He and his wife Nancy established the Berl Lejfer and Alan J. Tichnor Memorial Endowed Scholarship, in dedication to both of their fathers. Other contributions have included gifts to the Nano-Floor (Floor 5) of the Dalia Maydan Center for Advanced Material Studies, and the renovation of the Abraham and Sonya Slifka Auditorium.
Joined at the ceremony by his wife Nancy and four children, Mr. Lejfer is involved with numerous causes in addition to the ATS, including AIPAC, Friends of the New England Holocaust Memorial, Congregation Mishkan Tefila and Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
Some 210 attendees participated in the BOG, which came to a close with an event inaugurating a year of celebration of the laying of the Technion cornerstone in 1912.
