LinkForce – A (Free) URL Shortener for Salesforce Users

Ever have a long, cumbersome URL that was too lengthy to share or for people to remember? Perhaps something from Google maps with all the characters, symbols, longitude and latitude numbers, etc. Who wants to see that ugly URL? No one. This is where LinkForce comes in. This is a free tool provided by Force.com Labs and works with force.com sites and your own custom web domains. It turns long URL’s into short ones that can be used for social media environments (such as Twitter and Facebook) where characters are limited.
Additionally, LinkForce allows you to track click metrics such as click counts, time stamps and IP addresses for all your links using native Salesforce analytics.
Setup is easy. First install the LinkForce package from the AppExchange. Then add the pages and controllers to your new or existing force.com site.
