CRM Software: New Features in Microsoft CRM 2011

CRM Software, CRM 2011,  sports some neat new features to keep the look and feel current with the Microsoft Office Suite.  Some of the general UI features include the “ribbon” menu system where the actions available for a record are presented to the user immediately along the top of the window.  The ribbon may be collapsed by the end user the same as in the Office products.  The tool tips for each of these items are enhanced as well including telling the user why the tool may not be available to them at a particular time.

The objects available in the different areas of the application now offer shortcut menus that are accessible from an arrow on the right of the item.

This menu displays the system views as well as custom views.

When a user selects a specific view, that view is remembered by the CRM software as the preferred or “sticky” view for that session.  The user may also select which view is their “default” view rather than having to always use the default view designated by the system administrator.  This user selected default view is persistent throughout the application.  Sticky views don’t apply to the mobile CRM software client.

CRM 2011 now tracks the most recently used records by user.  This was a feature in the CRM software for Outlook client that has been ported to the browser client and enhanced.  This will allow a user to see up to 40 most recently used records and up to 10 most recently used views.  These references persist in the list on a first in-first out basis unless the user chooses to pin the item within the list.

We will be focusing on more of the new features offered in CRM Software, Dynamics CRM 2011, in days to come so that you can determine if the new features will enhance your team’s productivity and system ease-of-use.
