Microsoft Gold Certified PartnerUsing Multiple Queries

When querying the CRM system, users often need more than one advanced find open so that they can run multiple queries and use the results of one query in the criteria for the other. However, it isn't obvious how to open more than one advanced find window. Try this; when one advanced find window is in focus, press CTRL - N and another advanced find window should open up. You can open up as many advanced find windows as you'd like. Another trick is to set a shortcut in your favorites on your desktop and assign it the appropriate URL to open the advanced find. For example; {"http://CRMSERVER:PORT/AdvancedFind/AdvFind.aspx?" where "CRMSERVER: PORT"} would be replaced with the particular server name and port number used at your location.

Private Notes

Salesforce Select Consulting PartnerHave you ever needed to enter in sensitive data on a record but needed to keep it private so that other Salesforce users cannot see it? The Notes option on the Notes and Attachments related list is your answer. When you create a note simply check off the Private checkbox. Here are some details you should know:

  1. Notes and attachments marked as private via the Private checkbox are accessible only to the owner and administrators.
  2. For administrators to view private notes and attachments they need the "View All Data" permission; to edit them, they need the "Modify All Data" permission.
  3. You cannot report off of notes.
